Many adults in our community lack basic skills in:

  • reading
  • writing
  • math
  • English as a second language

Through the A.B.L.E. program, you can help adults to improve these skills.

Volunteer tutors complete an application process and are then paired with an adult learner by the literacy coordinator.  The tutor and learner meet for one or two hours per week to work on improving the learners literacy skills. Tutors are provided with resources and training to help support their learner.

Tutoring is an opportunity to get to know someone new and to support lifelong learning in adults. You can help someone make positive changes in their lives.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer literacy tutor, please call Rochelle at 403-362-1685 or email ABLEBrooks@mhc.ab.ca.

We hope to hear from you soon!
